Independent Junior Sailing

   LYSA is offering independent sailing sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays for sailors meeting the requirements. There will be two sessions, each an hour and a half. One will start at 3:00 and the other at 4:30 pm. Sessions will be limited to 6 junior sailors and will be supervised by an adult Sail Camp staff member in the club safety boat. There will be no cost for this program. The criteria for sailors to participate are:
  • Between twelve and sixteen years of age.
  • Past attendance for a minimum of two summers (at least one week per summer) at LYSA Junior Sail Camp
  • Ability, as determined by adult volunteers of LYSA Junior Sail Camp, to sail independently without undue risk to the junior sailor or others using Lake Yosemite and the facilities of LYSA.
  • A signed and dated Hold Harmless Agreement, Medical Information form, submitted before the first sailing session.
​Signups are all done online, but please download and read the Independent Junior Sailing Program Waiver before signing up.
